This Is My New Jersey

All that is great about the Garden State!

My Jersey Christmas List: 2025

We are now less than a week away from Christmas, so I better make sure to get my Christmas list to Santa. And of course, my list has its own bit of Jersey flair.

It’s All About the Food

First, I have to ask the big guy for some Fralinger’s Salt Water Taffy and fudge from The Original Fudge Kitchen. Due to a variety of personal reasons, Glenn and I haven’t been down the shore in quite some time. We desperately miss sitting on the deck at Water’s Edge Motel, watching the waves, enjoying some salt water taffy and fudge. As we walk down the Washington Street Mall, we always visit The Original Fudge Kitchen and James Candy to pick up those iconic sweet favorites. We plan on heading down to Wildwood Crest before Memorial Day and we just can’t wait!

Showing off my love for the classic TEC from Crispy and Frosty on Etsy.

Still in the food category, every Jersey Girl starts her day with a cup of cawfee and either a butted roll or a TEC/SPK (that’s Taylor Ham, egg and cheese/salt pepper ketchup for those who don’t speak Jersey). A great way to show some love for that unique breakfast is a unique shirt.

DTS

We all wait with anticipation for the weather to warm up so we can head DTS (that’s Down the Shore). As I have discussed in the past, we all have our favorite spots and it can shift based on your age. For Glenn and me, it is now Wildwood Crest and Cape May. And even more specific for me, it is Sunset Beach.

I can (and have) spend hours digging for Cape May Diamonds, looking for the ghost tracks, and watching the horseshoe crabs. I absolutely love these prehistoric sea creatures. I always make sure to look for any horseshoe crabs that might be on its back and flip them over so it doesn’t become easy prey.

Silver horseshoe crab pendant

I always want to keep my beloved Cape May nearby, and what better way than a silver horseshoe crab pendant! I can imagine wearing this on a long silver chain – especially in the winter to remind myself that my beloved Jersey shore isn’t that far away.

Jersey Fresh

Despite all the over development, New Jersey is still The Garden State. And nothing is better than Jersey tomatoes in the summer. I absolutely love this tote bag from True Jersey. It will look great, whether you are in the garden when you are picking your tomatoes and basil or food shopping at the Shop Rite.

Local Art

Finally, I absolutely love when fellow New Jerseyans have the ability to show off their Garden State fandom with their art. E. Whitmore Art is an incredibly talented artist who has the ability to work in a variety of mediums. From patches of sunflowers to historic buildings, she has an eye for the unique spots and open spaces that make New Jersey so special.

Well, that’s it. I know Christmas is drawing near, but I hope I’ve given you a few ideas for fellow New Jerseyans that prefer a local twist to their gifts.
